When Things Fall Apart
"When Things Fall Apart" What a dooming title for such an enlightening book! Buddhist Pema Chodron has organized a series of her lectures for this book to open readers to the idea of facing their greatest fears. Her argument is that the growth and peace of mind we all seek comes from facing these fears. She states that when we shy away from our fears due to discomfort, we only create further dissonance in the mind. Facing your truth can be a scary thing. Looking your self in the mirror and being honest about what you see can be uncomfortable. But if we're not honest with ourselves, where else would true honesty lie?
As a mental health practitioner, I highly encourage this book to anyone going through a life transition or facing their truth/fear:
